The materials used in these works are precious and semi precious stone, shells, sea glass, seeds, fabrics, wood, and metals. Many were collected during hikes, both locally and internationally.
I’ve always loved to collage or embellish various art forms. This collection is titled “Crowns”. A tribute to my mother and the numerous other matriarchs in my childhood community that wore their crowns with dignity, and pride. They were highly respected, valued, and appreciated. It takes a village to raise a child and I am thankful for their encouragement, wisdom, guidance, and both sweet and tough love.
